What is NDIS Household Tasks Support?
Household tasks support helps NDIS participants maintain a clean, safe, and functional home environment. For people with disability, keeping on top of domestic tasks can be physically exhausting, cognitively demanding, or simply impossible without assistance — and a clean, well-maintained home has a significant impact on health, wellbeing, and quality of life.
This support is funded under the Core Supports budget in your NDIS plan, under the Assistance with Daily Life category. It covers assistance with cleaning, laundry, ironing, meal preparation, grocery shopping, and general household maintenance tasks that you are unable to do as a result of your disability.
Importantly, household tasks support is not funded for tasks that any member of your household could reasonably do — the NDIS funds support that is directly related to your disability and its impact on your capacity to maintain your home.
